Educational Psychology Department
At Dallington School, we firmly believe that every child can.
The Educational Psychology Department works closely with the teaching staff and families to ensure that every pupil develops to their full potential in personal, social and academic terms. María Recio, who has 20 years’ experience in educational and clinical psychology and family psychotherapy, heads our department, supported by Paola Recio, also a psychologist, and a team of speech therapists and educational psychologists.
The objectives of our department are:
- Ensure that from school we are adapting to the needs of each of our students.
- Supervise that from all school levels, the development of competencies is promoted, such as self-confidence, effective thinking, and emotional regulation through which they achieve healthy relationships and an adequate capacity for adaptation.
- Identify with teachers and parents any academic, pedagogical or emotional needs that may arise; as well as any curricular adaptation that is necessary.
- Evaluate and design a coordinated action plan with parents, teachers and specialists if necessary, with the school being the communication framework between them.
- Advise and help our families with any questions, concerns or concerns that have to do with the personal development of our students.
