Dear Dallington Community,
As we stand on the brink of a brand-new academic year, we can’t express how excited we are for the adventures and learning that lie ahead. A new school year brings a sense of renewed energy and boundless possibilities.
Our dedicated teaching team worked tirelessly, creatively, and passionately to conclude last year on a high note with our Poetry Festival, student-created Fair for Baby Uganda and marvellous Summer Shows. The enthusiasm that our educators brought to the closing stages of last year has seamlessly transitioned into the opening weeks of this new one, and we’ve already benefited from new perspectives that new team members will naturally bring. Together, we’ve crafted an exciting and dynamic programme of study that is designed to ignite curiosity and inspire exploration among our students.
One of our core commitments as an educational institution has always been to nurture our students’ oracy skills in all areas of our curriculum. We believe that effective communication, from Early years, is at the heart of successful learning. To this end, we are maintaining and building upon approaches that foster the development of oracy skills across all subject areas, such as Talk for Writing and the Tower Hamlets Language Structure programme. Our students will continue to engage in rich discussions, express their thoughts and develop the confidence to articulate their ideas in front of a range of audiences.
This year marks a significant milestone as we enter a new phase with Key Stage 4. It’s a crucial juncture in our students’ educational journey, and we are fully committed to providing them with the guidance, support, and resources they need to reach their full potential. The transition to Key Stage 4 opens up new avenues of growth and learning, and we are excited to accompany our students on this part of their academic adventure.
Before we conclude this message, we want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the returning Dallington families for your support and partnership as this builds the foundation to our successes. In addition, we give a warm welcome to all our new families. Together, we can create an environment where every child can flourish.
We look forward to the upcoming year with great anticipation and hope that together, we will write another chapter in the remarkable story of Dallington School.
