To Dallington Families,
First, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all returning and new families. It has been a very positive start to the academic year, and it has been great to see the students back in school with their glorious smiles.
We are extremely fortunate to have such a motivated group of teachers, who comprehend the importance of supporting each child in helping them to reach their potential. Their plans already demonstrate how they aim to differentiate and vary their approaches to teaching (as promoted by Howard Gardner’s theory on Multiple Intelligences). One area that we are aiming to push further with is ‘personalisation’. Personalisation encourages educators to know more about the passions and interests of the learner. In other words, to know what makes the learner ‘tick’! A strong combination of differentiation, varied teaching approaches and personalisation will ensure that the teaching and learning at Dallington School remains ‘Child-Centred’.
It is our hope that the pupils are able to return each afternoon with wonderful stories to share in regard to their experiences from school. At Dallington School, the strong connection between home and school is very apparent and it is important that we build on from this, as it can only be to the benefit of the child. Many thanks in advance for the support you will provide us this year.
Best Regards,
Mr. Peter Hay, Dallington School Head of Primary and Secondary
