LEARN TO DEBATE

At Dallington School, developing students’ communication and thinking skills is one of our main goals. Our teachers will help them acquire these skills, which are so important in their personal and professional lives, through a wide range of methods and activities.

Debate, for example, plays a crucial role in the development of students’ language and thinking. They learn to reflect on their ideas, formulate and present arguments, and provide evidence. Equally important is that students listen carefully to others’ opinions, create counterarguments, use specific vocabulary, and follow debate protocols.

In last term’s Global Awareness topic, the 4th and 5th grade students delivered an impressive debate and demonstrated their extraordinary potential. They will have many more opportunities to fully utilize this potential.
