From this inspiration grew the idea for our <\/span><b>House Teams<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, each named after a tree \u2014 Oak, Willow, Maple and Chestnut. Their animal is the <\/span><b>owl<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, symbolising wisdom and watchfulness.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Willow<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Motivated and inquisitive, with a kind and friendly nature. Their animal is the <\/span><b>deer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a gentle yet determined spirit.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Maple<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Bright and enthusiastic, with inner confidence and creativity. Their animal is the <\/span><b>squirrel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, full of energy and curiosity.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><b>Chestnut<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Loving and brave, with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn. This pride is not simply symbolic \u2014 it is lived out daily through the choices pupils make, guided by the <\/span><b>Dallington School Principles: Respect, Responsibility, Effort, Honesty, Politeness, and Kindness<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our House Point system helps to make these principles tangible. Teachers notice and reward pupils who demonstrate them, allowing children to move up the visual behaviour and attitude chart. Pupils who remain in the rainbow or star by the end of the day then earn house points for their team. Pupils wait eagerly to hear how their house has performed, cheering for their teams and celebrating one another\u2019s efforts. School-wide events, such as the much-loved <\/span><b>Sports Day <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><b> in CTS projects<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, allow pupils to show both skill and team pride as they compete with determination. We are incredibly proud that the roots of our House Teams have spread even further \u2014 even sighting some parents wearing house t-shirts too, cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines.
